Display Names: Signage for your table or showcase.

I was looking at some gorgeous turquoise and silver jewelry the other day, set in a nice glass case. The table was draped with nice fabric and the overhead sign was beautifully lettered. In the case however, little white cardboard tents, that described the items, were bent, dirty and not too well lettered.

This gave me the idea for these inexpensive name markers that don't take up a lot of space, wear very well and won't clash with the items being sold.

Hand carved in your choice solid Maple, Walnut, Cherry, White or Red Oak for $6.00 each. I will be offering these in more varieties of hardwoods at a later date.

These are the same size as my standard keychain 5/8 x 5/8 inch, by however long the word is.

Perfect size for showcases, display tables and identifying unique pieces on a shelf or pedestal.

The back edge is beveled at 45 degrees to facilitate reading.

They are sanded to 400 grit and finished with 3 coats of clear lacquer. No dyes or stains are used on any of my works.

Due to the very nature of wood, all pieces are unique. Color variances and grain differences are inevitable and appreciated.

I would like any thoughts or other uses you might think of for these. I listed them here in MY ZIBBET SHOP a little while ago.

Peace in Wood,
Scott

Thanks for your enthusiasm Silverlight/WhiteLeaf.

These thoughts have occurred to me, although adding the ring hardware is a stroke of genius. I hadn't thought of that. Perhaps I need to do a separate listing for those with some wedding thingies in the photos for effect.

Thank you so much for the insightful and thoughtful comments.

Peace in Wood,
Scott

Just a thought: lots of people get married on the beach nowadays, and of course the natural wood look of these markers would suit a beach theme perfectly. Or a forest/woodlands theme. Or a 'country and western' theme. Or an Autumn theme. Or or or ...
(You've obviously got my creative juices flowing! ;-D)

Wow.
Those are seriously cool.
I don't do markets frequently, but if I did, these markers would be a great investment. (Of course, I'd have to have a truckload of your business cards ready to hand out, because people would be constantly asking where I got the carved markers from!)
You could use them for anything - they could even make excellent favours for weddings, family reunions, etc.! Buyers could get one carved for every guest (at $6.00 each I don't think people would find that too expensive; you could possibly even offer a bulk discount if you think it effective), and use them as place-cards; then afterwards the guests get to take home their name, carved in wood. Attach a keyring or karabiner/lobster-claw fitting to them and they'd be even more useful.
I love the fact that you angled the bottom so that they will sit just right. Brilliant.
