I have just added a first youtube video about a 1 minute sterling polishing cloth.  I recommended Zibbet, and, all Zibbet dealers as my first choice for handmade throughout the video

I will be added more informational videos soon.  Like Freshwater pearls buyers guide to internet buying.  As a gemologist making handmade items, I know the info I can add to these videos will be good info.  However I doubt the quality of the video will impress anyone.

Anyone had experience to share about video as a promotional tool?  Comments, critiques, good, bad or whatever about my video (I think it's too long??) will be appreciated.

Hiya Lloyd! You ought to be doing radio - you have an awesome voice for this!! I love the premise of the whole video and I definitely think that a lot of folks would benefit from it because let's face it - everyone wants to be able to keep their jewelry looking great as long as possible. I just think that a video for that shouldn't be over a couple minutes long. You can definitely split this video up into something extremely quick on how well these cloths work by demonstrating the whole cleaning process. Take maybe 3 minutes to actually show the cloth being used and maybe just do 1/2 the item so you can see the difference.  (By the way, I looooooove Sunshine cloths and anti-tarnish strips!)

I would do a product review of the different cleaning types and tarnish shields by themselves.

I would put all your contact sites in a different video

Shopping on the internet should be a separate video. If you want to introduce it, just use a teaser sort of introduction and make it just a couple sentences. If you want to list the upcoming videos, don't go into too much detail about them. Just give a teaser because it gives people more incentive to check those out.

The reason I'm encouraging you to break this video up is because people don't usually want to spend 13+ minutes on any video at all. YouTube tv is primarily for videos that are a couple minutes long - usually not more than about  minutes. People on the internet like "quick and easy". Unfortunate, but true. They've gotten used to "instant gratification" and almost demand it. I think you have a great deal to offer here and you should definitely continue it. :o)

I think you are right about the time.  I will likely redo this whole thing to shorter.  I've seen someone else's video that used a slide show to show product.  This seems to work well.  Video doesn't show Jewelry very well.  Thanks for your review.  You confirmed my opionion.

Our next video will be a focused video of buyers tips for the internet about the real quality paremeters of freshwalter pearls.  Example: How lto be sure you are getting the size (diameter) pearls you really want.

thanks again,

Lloyd

Lloyd, you're most welcome. :o)  That one about the pearls should be stellar!  I've known a lot of people to do the slide show for the jewelry presentation. Animoto is a free application that lets you do a lot of that and it's really cool. Z Box has a bunch of videos out there that Becky did and they are great! I'm sure she'd help you with any questions you have. :o)
