Comment by Portable Graffiti Graphics Judy on March 23, 2012 at 8:48am I have not checked into this group in a while. Nice to sell these dinner ideas. ExCognito there is also a forum thread that we have been posting meal ideas and sharing recipes. It's an old thread and would love to see your photos and recipes posted there, too, if you have the time. Thanks Judy.
The thread is here:
Comment by ExCognito on February 9, 2012 at 9:16pm haha, people just getting all the time annoyed with me if it come to talk about food.
i allways hear... uhhh i have o money... and i say, well, we just need about 120 bucks a month for food becasue we just cook everything at home. fastfood and convenience food is super expensive. than people say... but i work and i dont have time to do all of the cooking... yeh well, sorry, but the whole world is working AND cooking...giggle.. look into the cooking life of an italian mama.. haha... but if people know how to do it often just goes by the way. i bake bread and meanwhile make a few jewelry pieces. the dough gets knead in the kitchen machine and lucky me, he does not need any entertainment while raising or baking.. smile... but homemade food is the best in the world
Comment by Yonni's Wacky Workshop on February 9, 2012 at 9:09pm @ExCognito - THANK YOU for posting! I have been forgetting to take pics of the huge budget meals I have been making and no, I wouldn't say "bitchy"... ;)
Being of mostly European background, I totally understand where you are coming from and greatly appreciate that I was raised to cook EVERYTHING from an early age (bought my first cookbook at age 5). I can easily feed a family of 10 with just a few dollars and with everything being homemade. Please do not consider yourself "bitchy" for something of which you should be very proud - it is another form of art. :)
That being said, thank you again. I have to learn how to make those dumplings! They look scrumptious!
Keep up the great work and all the best ~ MUAH :)
Comment by ExCognito on February 9, 2012 at 8:04pm today i had russian Pelmeni.
with onions and sour cream.
i made the dough out of 2 eggs, 500 gramm flour and 6 table spoon of water.
the filling is made out of ground beef, onions, garlic, brokkoli and real cheese.
first boiled and than super light fried in hot garlic butter
oh, and i eat most times right at my metalsmithing working desk with computer in front of me ;-)
Comment by ExCognito on February 9, 2012 at 7:59pm i am a bitch if it comes to food. i NEVER eat pre made "food" because for me that has not much to do at all with food. that is just stuff, mixed with syntheticsa nd added some synthetic flavors to taste like something ... haha
so, i bake every other day bread, i make our noodles, fresh cheese etc etc etc all at home.
i am a single monther, double time fullt ime worker, i start at 11 am and i finish work probably around 2am or 3 or ... whatever
so, on top, i have to admit that i am european, living in the US...giggle... and my tast memeory still is strong and i need real european food and can not take in what 5 generation of american living/eating made out of germans or italians or....
i need the real deal ... very bitchy, right?
here are my pretzels from 3 days ago... yummy, made WITHOUT sugar!

Comment by Portable Graffiti Graphics Judy on August 14, 2011 at 8:11pm Yesterday I made my smooth and tasty guacamole!
I prefer Florida avocados so my recipe is designed for them.
in a food processor dump in
1 chopped up advocado
3 tablespoons sourcream
3 tablespoons PLAIN yogurt (I made my own)
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon lemon juice
some chopped cilantro
twirl it up till smooth AND use it in your salad!
