Im a Kiwi, born and raised there. Now I live in the states, but I saw this group and just had to join. Im glad to hear the NZ Zibberters are all ok. My family is all in Wellington, (thats where im from too), so all is ok down there. Hearts do go our to all the people in Christchurch.

I read this first, and then went to the news. Had not checked the news all day. I never knew NZ had earthquakes. How awful. Hope all our friends are okay. Judy

The news says that people are in shock, which is not surprising. What a mess. Communications down, an unknown number of fatalities, and even more buildings ruined. Poor Cantabrians; they were still trying to recover from the previous quake.

All safe and well here. Some friends flew to Christchurch yesterday for the weekend - they are shocked but safe.

I'm in the North Island, so I'm fine. I believe that One Day's Grace is also in the N.I., so she should be O.K. too. My family has friends in Christchurch; we checked in with them and they are all fine - their worst casualty was some broken glass. I read somewhere that it was New Zealand's worst earthquake on record, but because of the time it hit (04:30) most people were asleep in bed and thus there are no deaths, which is brilliant.
