Hey everybody - I sent an email to the group last week , but it seems quite a few people did not receive it.  In a nutshell, my note was about group participation, and how we can increase it.  Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of things the group could do to provide support, ideas, etc. to our fellow members?

I don't think so?? Could you send it again and I'll let you know if I get it tomorrow :) I can't access my personal email at work so I should be home about 4:30 CDT

Emily - I agree.  I just sent out an email yesterday to the group about promoting individual Jewelry Superheros on my blog.  Did you receive the email?

There IS a ton of jewelry online however, once a group is active on a regular basis, the liklihood that THOSE members are seen is tremendously increased. Largely because every member is posting at their favorite "Hot Spots," word travels like wildfire.

One of the biggest concerns I have is whether or not Zibbet, as a site, is getting quality exposure. It's not enough to expect that people even know about it. It's our jobs as members to inform them. Like any other up-and-coming site, Zibbet will have to be planted in people's minds. We can do that. Blogs, FB, Plurk, Twitter, etc. are all fine places to brag-up Zibbet. It may take dedication to the cause, but it really CAN be done. It's something that has to be kept up, not just dabbled at.

Every member will benefit from gaining exposure for the site. No matter what the medium, quality exposure is key. If there is this defeatist attitude, that's where the ball gets dropped. It's a committment. Just like you commit to populating your shop, you have to commit to promoting BOTH your shop AND the site(s) at which you are a member.

Doris - I think that there is so much jewelry online, that individual sellers get lost in the shuffle. As Zibbet grows, hopefully more people will find our stores.  I am doing a lot of work on facebook and other places to try to drive sales to my shop.  I'll keep you guys posted.

Laurie - I wish I had some advice for you about the craft show, but I have limited experience in that area.  I wish you good luck and many sales!

So I'm trying my first craft show here in October...any tips from you superheroes who have done shows before?  It's going to be outside, from noon-6.

you know what's funny... although i've been on both zibbet and etsy for almost a year, I've made the most sales through Facebook and my jewelry shows... hmm.. Is there a trick or something that I've missed with these sites? lol
