Does anyone know of a reputable site for purchasing sewing machine thread? We, only have  the Hancocks, Hobby Lobby and other expensive ones. The Walmart and target  around here took out their sewing departments a few years ago. Sigh

Sorry, I buy my thread at JoAnn Fabrics, and then only if it's on sale or I have a 40% off coupon.  Most of the time I need a good color match for my projects so it's easier for me to buy in person.

thanks for the suggestion. I do like the idea of a 40% off coupon, so I signed up for the mailed coupons from Hancock Fabric and maybe I can find the Joann fabrics store when I go.   I may have to take some sample fabric swatches when I get the coupon so I can have options.

I have used Red Rock Threads a few times(http://www.redrockthreads.com/).

They have a large selection of known brands and different kinds of thread including quilting, sewing and machine embroidery thread.  They also have machine embroidery stabilizers.  They offer thread sets of sewing thread as well as machine embroidery thread, these are handy if you need a wider range of colors and they can work out to be less expensive as long as they include colors you use a lot.

They have had sales in the past but I have not seen anything lately.  I stocked up on a wonderful Anton Robinson polyester sewing thread from them when they were selling off a discontinued line so I have not really been paying attention.  If you machine embroider they have the Isacord line which I think is the best out there, but it is not inexpensive.

They ship quickly and their shipping is cheap by comparison to a lot of others.

You might also try Thread Arts(http://www.threadart.com/shop/) I have never used them but I know they have been around for quite awhile so that says something.  They handle mostly embroidery thread but they do have a polyester sewing thread at a good price.  I don't know anything about their shipping although their prices seem good.

Happy shopping

This is where I buy my threads for sewing, it is a two hour drive one way for me to get to such supplies in person.

I buy most of my thread from www.sewthankful.com. It is a small family based business in New Mexico; they have a wide selection, good prices, and frequent sales. Easy to work with and friendly people - give them a try!
