Multiple shops? Or expand in Sections? Descisions, descisions.

Hi All,

We are at the point where we want to start parting with our hoard of vintage, collectible and antique items. Also, my wife is getting comfortable enough in her jewelry making to start selling on-line.

I am primarily a worker of wood, as is evident viewing my Zibbet shop. But, I am curious to hear opinions on expanding into the vintage and jewelry realms.

Should I stick with the DustyNewt brand and revamp my banner, avatar and logo, then add the appropriate sections to my shop? Or, should I start from scratch with a new shop for each?

I am leaning toward the uni-shop as it would make it easier to maintain and allow me more workshop time (which is in short supply now). I already maintain a DustyNewt presence on Etsy, ArtFire and Ebay, as well as a host of related entities. I don't want to become a "webmaster" and forego any more shop time than I am now.

I would love to hear advice from ya'll, especially those maintaining two or more shops in any one venue.

Peace in Wood, Scott

Thanks!  I think it makes the most sense to combine them.  Now, I am just trying to see if I can use the export feature on Crafts In Bloom and import them into Thoughtful Gems.  I will plan to research it tomorrow.  Thanks again.

I wanted to keep my two products away from each other because they draw very different clients.  My Arab/Farsi/Urdu craft products are very differnet then my sarcastic card selections that are in English.

But on the other hand, I am finding that I am spending much more time at my A Crafty Arab shop then my Under Your Breath simply because it is a Premium account and much more easier to work within (for listing, sales, coupons, etc).

Now I'm thinking I might just close up my sarcastic shop altogether.  The cards are doing very well in the four B&M stores I have them in here in Seattle but I have not sold any online (I also tried a store on Etsy with the same line of cards).

This topic helped me so much!! I had already created two basic shops because I wanted a different look and feel for each. One is handmade cards (http://www.zibbet.com/DesignedByDee) and one is vintage postcards (http://www.zibbet.com/SomewhereInTime)     Totally different look and feel and a no brainer to decide.

However, I want to begin moving my Etsy jewelry over and do I create a separate shop for jewelry or mix it with cards? They're such separate mediums but are my two loves - eclectic but of nature. I'll use my blog to hold it all together and keep my audience aware of presence in different areas.
