Maybe I have missed it, but is there any way to tag what we do as crafters? I searched under sellers for "woodworking" but none turn up. Perhaps it is something Jonathan could look into. Maybe just five tags to label ourselves in our profile, so that we may search by craft. Perhaps encouraging unity in the community. Buyers could shop that way too. ~ Peace in Wood, Scott

Hey Scott,

Interesting idea...so basically a way to organize sellers in terms of what type of craft you do. I like it and I'm sure we can implement this at some stage.

Have a great weekend!
Scott
In a sense we have that here in the Community. You could start a Woodworkers Group. Anyone can create a group here. Just go to Groups, and create it, name it anything you want. Then post a message here under "Group Announcements" that you formed a woodworkers group. And invite folks to join it.

That could suffice until Jonathan adds your suggestion to the list.

I like this idea too. When I was using the seller search yesterday I searched for "stitch" to see if my A Stitch and a Prayer shop would be found. I found several shops whose ID started with "stitch" and a couple that didn't. However, I didn't find "astitchandaprayer". The search apparently searches the shop ID field and the shop title field but for the the shop ID field it looks like the ID has to start with the string that is being searched for. Since my shop's ID starts with "astitch..." and I don't have the word "stitch" in my shop title field the search for "stitch" failed to find my shop.

If we had a few shop tags, that would be a great way for people to find shops in certain categories and even a particular shop if they couldn't remember exactly what the shop name was.
Liking this idea!
Right now the Community and Zibbet are two separate entities although they are linked and that's why clicking the avatar doesn't take you to the shop. I think that there are plans for that to change eventually. In the meantime, you should be able to find a shop link on most people's Community page. Since we can rearrange our Community pages, those shop links are not located in the same place on all pages. Personally, I think it's a good idea to drag that component of your page to the top so that it's easy for people to find and jump from there to your shop...

that would be great.. I wish we could just click on peoples avatars and get a link to their shop... I've been wanting to see the shops of people that post here, but since I'm so busy trying to figure stuff out , I can't take the time now to hunt shops down... and I KNOW i 'm going to have to buy a little something soon to see how the check out works.... At least thats what I'll tell my husband...LOL
I find so much stuff that way on etsy... just by clicking an avatar.. there is a few good things about etsy..
I second the idea for a clickable link to the shop. t'would b'good.
If you entered your shop's URL when you opened your Community account, then it should be showing on our community page. Go to my community page (click my avatar) and you will see my shop link near the top of my page.

BeadCasita, your link is near the bottom of your page, which is the default location. To move it, just drag it to the desired location on your page and drop it there.

For those who didn't enter your shop URL when you signed up here on the Community OR if you typed it incorrectly, click Settings on the right side of your Community page. You'll be taken to the page where you can add or edit your shop URL.

I'm not sure if this is included in what you're asking, Scott ... but my request would be to have a separate section or box or set of tags where we could include the Groups we're in.

I'm sure we'll be promoting each other via our Groups ~ either on our blogs or FB or Twitter or on the Zibbs ... I so very much do *not* want to use tags to include my Group memberships. And having our Group 'memberships' showing on item pages as well as here on the Social side of things, would really help us to promote each other, via listings.

Thanks everyone. I am glad to see that others are in favor. I just got in from work and am a little feeble-minded but will be better Monday. See ya'll then. ~ Peace in Wood, Scott
