Do you have a garden? It can be small or large, in a backyard, side yard, front yard or patio. On a balcony or just a single flower pot. Fruits, vegetables or flowers.  Share a picture or pictures of what is growing in your 'garden'.

I love my garden and I could just spend hours puttering around.  When a weekend allows, my favorite place to start my day is on our patio. Open the umbrella at the table, spread out the newspaper, have a cup of coffee within reach and enjoy what nature has provided (and also with a little help from me). Sometimes we don't realize how busy our lives are but I was reminded of that this morning. Everyone take a few minutes occasionally and enjoy the moment.  Here are a couple pictures of what is blooming in my garden right now.

Beautiful photos and great idea for a discussion thread.

Nothing in my gardens but fireants.

Can't wait to see what others post.

I just love doing the same. Flowers make me smile, and it feels so nice when you plant seeds and then see what beauty they bring. Great thread idea. My balcony garden. :) First is one of two grape tomato plants which are very tasty. :)

A sunflower getting ready to bloom.

Can't remember the name but planted seeds. They are lovely looking. Plus many more that surround a single chair for me to sit and have my morning coffee.

We are still waiting for our first tomatoes. I am so jealous of that grape tomato.  Sunflowers just make a person smile.  I also see you have planted nasturtium.  The leaves remind me of lily pads.  Did you know that nasturtium leaves and flowers are edible?  They supposedly have a peppery taste and would go well in a salad.  Thanks for sharing. :o)

Laura, your plants on containers look great. I won this book from New Society Publishers, and it arrived yesterday. I haven't had time to look at it yet though.

I just posted my peppers, tomatoes and strawberries all in containers. The ground is too hard to work here....heavy clay.

The bottom pick is nastursums (sp?). The flowers are very tasty in salads.

Here's a part of my garden...strawberries, cherry tomatoes (been eating for over a month), banana peppers (way too many) and a corner of the patio.

Looks like a bountiful harvest. Love, love, love strawberries!  Lucky you on those tomatoes, ours are still green. How do you use the banana peppers?

I love pickled banana peppers in salads or on sandwiches. Found very little on the internet so came up with 1/2c water and 1/2c. white vinegar with a bit of salt and they taste good. I refrigerate for a few days. One night I was sauteeing onions and mushrooms and threw them in. They are not hot, mild. But the harvest is nuts. There are 4 plants and I've easily picked 75-80 and there's at least 2 dozen on the plant. Next year 1-2 plants.

You can freeze peppers easily too.

What an awesome garden!

I freeze the extra peppers.  Come winter when it's cold and snowy, chili and a touch of the hot peppers from summer. Yum!
