I've had my shop open since the beginning of April And still no sales.I know I need to add more items but do to my sons wedding and then some family stuff I've had to put things on hold.

I'm back to working on things but I still have doubts about keep[ng the shop open or closing it down. Any  suggestions would be welcome.

Blessed Be,

Nancy

Knitting and jewellery are hard sell items. Perhaps because there is so much of it out there!

Also, I see very few shops on Zibbit with sales! I think you should branch out to some of the other sites and thus become better-known! Etsy has been my main site for many years now. HOWEVER, I was not successful there until I discovered a fad group! I've found my niche, and am self-supporting, finally!

My local sales are the pits, though! Nobody locally wants "hand crafted" stuff anymore, except other artisans engaged in the same craft fairs... What has sold in the last year or so, at these local shows lately are commercially-made, China-imported necklace watches! Kinda the pits to see my best hand-made stone necklaces not selling for a tenth of the price while people buy imported, manufactured stuff! SIGH!

If you are interested in getting into fad groups, that is likely going to bring your best sales. Can you make a hat resembling a giant squid? One with an attached 'beard'? One with bacon-looking side ties? You might be able to break into those fad groups & make some sales.

It may sound stupid and strange...but fads are strange! I make my entire living selling broken old mechanical watches....

not for repair, but for use in making jewellery...my best seller?  Cufflinks!  Go figgur!
