I'm hearing in the social media hub that the Facebook Welcome page is the way to go. So I'm trying to figure out how to build one from scratch on my own page. This takes a bit of html, which I'm okay with doing, but what I need help with is the size of the image.
If you've done a Welcome page, can you share with me the pixels sizes (width and height) for your image?
Also, do you have a seperate one for new fans and fans already?

Permalink Reply by A Crafty Arab (Kay) on December 28, 2011 at 7:42pm I spent hours on Photoshop making a page from scratch and then an additional hour trying to get it the right size to fit. Then today I found http://www.pagemodo.com/ and had one done in a few mintues (for free). Man, I could have used this page two days ago!

In permissions I make it the default landing page but otherwise visitors who have already "Liked" see the Wall straight away. You can set this in Permissions:
And yes PageModo (and other such services) do make it easier if you do not code or use Dreamweaver but they always seem to take longer to load, plus you have their branding on it. For those not comfortable with designing your own (or with time restraints), it's very helpful, though!
I think now mine's a bit too much (I did it quite a while ago) -- it;s more like a mini website (it's longer than this image shows) rather than a splash:

Is there something I should be concerned about?

Permalink Reply by Michelle De Rooy on January 10, 2012 at 1:20pm Thanks for this info. Have you found it beneficial as far as sales go to have a FB page? When did you start FB for your sales? Do you have a personal FB page too?
Permalink Reply by A Crafty Arab (Kay) on January 10, 2012 at 1:50pm Yes, I've gotten sales from my FB page (www.facebook.com/acraftyarab). I have it connected to my Zibbet and Twitter, so every time I list an item on Zibbet, itgets sent to my FB page which in turns sends it to Twitter. I am pretty active on it too. I'm not sure about exactly when I started the page, but it's been awhile as I've got over 600 fans now.
I have a personal page and keep the two as seperate as possible. I don't want my fans to see photos of my kids playing at the park, and I don't need my friends to be sent every thing I do about my business (unless they are fans of my page of course).
