Hi Janine.  Welcome and nice to have you.

First, please don't forget to post your shop URL so we can all enjoy your shop.  I noticed when I  tried to locate you, you had www.janine.......   Your shop URL will be www.zibbet.com/janine.....

When I clicked on what you had on "Your Page", it would not go to your shop and that is why.

I will now type in the right URL and look for you.

Janine-

It's quitting time for me, but I'll take a good look at your shop tomorrow morning unless you have already gotten other good comments by then.  But a couple quick things:

Your link on your community page is not in the correct format.  It should be http://www.zibbet.com/jaydasboutique.  You also may want to look at http://community.zibbet.com/forum/topics/new-to-zibbet-tell-us-how-to for information on rearranging your community page.

Right now you have 1 featured item in your shop.  That results in a whole lot of blank, i.e., wasted, space prominently displayed to a shopper who visits you.  If you are going to show featured items it is best to designate at least 7 items as featured so all the spaces are filled and they vary from page to page as shoppers go through your shop.

See you tomorrow.

Janine-

I have now had time to take a closer look at your shop.  You are off to a great start and have some lovely products.

You could tighten up your welcome message a bit.  Every line used in the welcome message pushes the images of your products about 19 pixels down the screen, reducing what is visible to shoppers.  It is important to catch the interest of shoppers immediately or you risk them bouncing out of your shop.  Getting great products before the shoppers' eyes is essential to catching that interest.  What currently occupies 7 lines and 4 paragraphs in your welcome could probably be combined into a single paragraph consisting of 2 lines, which would move your product images 95 pixels up the page, a huge gain.

Having a good contrast between the item and background is important, especially in the images used in your thumbnails.  Unless a shopper immediately can recognize what you are selling it is unlikely that a shopper will be interested.  To the right is one of your items.  To figure out what is shown requires effort.  Shoppers who need to put an effort into figuring out your products will go someplace that requires less effort on their part.  As a comparison, the image to the left has a high contrast and is immediately recognizable, and therefore much more effective.  Small items such as yours often photograph best is you use a light box.  A great discussion of light boxes is at http://community.zibbet.com/forum/topics/photo-boxes.  You can make one without spending a lot of money.  Many websites offer instructions on making one.  Two examples can be found at http://photodoto.com/create-your-own-light-box/ and http://www.studiolighting.net/homemade-light-box-for-product-photog...

Some of your photos are very small.  For example, the one to the right is shown full size, a mere 226 pixels wide by 127 pixels high.  Shoppers want to be able to see a good size enlargement to be able to discern details of products.  I like to use 600 x 600 pixel images for all my photos.  To use a much larger image risks that some people will not be able to see the entire image in their browser window without scrolling.  With items as small as many of yours, a 400 x 400 pixel size might also be effective.  In the item descriptions which I opened, I only saw a single image for each.  You can post 4 images of each item.  Use additional images to show the reverse sides of products, close ups of details, etc., to help shoppers get a good feel for what you are selling.  Also, keep in mind that all thumbnails on Zibbet are square.  If your photos are not also square, you risk having details cropped out of thumbnails.  I did not see any glaring problems with cropping in your shop, but be aware.

Your profile page is a place to accomplish 2 things: to tell shoppers a little about you so they like you and want to do business with you, and to tell shoppers a little bit about your products in general that helps shoppers understand what makes your products better or more desirable than those being offered by your competitors.  Look at other shops' profile pages for examples.  I think that one of the most effective profiles I have seen is that which Judy has in her Portable Graffiti shop at  http://www.zibbet.com/PortableGraffiti/profile and another one I like is http://www.zibbet.com/MillionsofStitches/profile.

You sell some items specifically for infants and toddlers.  That is kind of scary.  I assume you are familiar with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).  If not, a starting place is http://www.cpsc.gov/about/cpsia/smbus/cpsiasbguide.html

There are some quick comments for your consideration.  As I said at the outset, you are off to a great start.  Happy selling.
