Hi Everybody!

I just got back from Japan today and one of the first things I thought to do was check Zibbet!  When I am away from home it makes me realize how much I enjoy reading things in the community and running my shops, haha.  It was a wonderful trip that I will be blogging about over the next few days (over at http://www.umeorigami.com).  I went all over the northern part of Japan (mostly in Hokkaido) and I took close to 4,000 photographs....  (I am a bit of a shutterbug!)  Here are a few of my favorite photographs as I am undergoing the terrible task of downloading everything to my computer *shudder*

From now until 9/15, I will be throwing in a special something with every purchase from my origami shop (http://www.zibbet.com/umeorigami) to celebrate being home and to share the wealth of some of the new papers I have picked up in my journeys.

It was great to travel, but always wonderful to be home :)  Missed you all!!!

great pictures, will have to check your blog !!!

Thanks Frauke! :D  I am hoping to take the next few days to sort through everything and get all the good ones up in my portfolio over the next month (Haha, I am so slow at these things!)  All of those photos were from Northern Japan in Hokkaido -- it was beautiful!

Can you tell us more about the photo that looks like River Walk?  I didn't know there was any place like that in Japan!

What wonderful photos you have.  I can't wait to read more about your trip in your blog.  Thanks so much for sharing your memories.

Needful,  I'm glad you like them!!  I'm working on a post right now actually that should be done tonight <3  The river walk was in a port city called Otaru on the southeast portion of the island of Hokkaido (Northern Japan, close to Russia).  It is a place with lots of early western influence from the turn of the century :D  The day view and night view look really different, but it was a great place to see because during the day it is filled with budding artists and creators selling their wares along the river, and at night it is the place for couples!  <3

Cool!

Captions please.

Judy

I added some Judy!  All of these photographs are from Northern Japan :D
Okay everybody, the first of many blog posts is up!  It talks about the city of Sapporo <3  http://www.umeorigami.com/blog/2011/9/12/reflecting-on-sapporo.html

Christina,

The photos that you've shared are fantastic! Thanks so much. I'm going to check out your blog now...
